System.Data and its nested namespaces include types for working with databases. The classes in these namespaces make up the portion of the .NET Framework known as ADO.NET. Compared with classic ADO, ADO.NET is more focused on client-side data processing and doesn t offer support for server-side cursors such as keysets and dynamic cursors, at least not in its first version. Therefore, classes in these two namespaces have to traverse more software layers to get to the data.

Introduced a decade ago, ASP.NET Web Forms has evolved and has been improved over the years.
