Building Data Access Pages Note Although you can select the Office Chart control to add a PivotChart to your data access page, you won t be able to set the filter relationship to the data already on your page without editing the HTML of the page. Using the Layout Wizard ensures that the PivotChart links correctly to the facility data that you have on the page. The Layout Wizard places a small Office Chart control on your page near the top. You should select the data area and expand it so that you have room to move and enlarge the chart. Move the chart below the last text box and make it big enough to give yourself some room to work. Your page should now look like Figure 27-45.

Building the PivotChart is identical to creating a form in PivotChart view, except the PivotChart toolbar appears across the top of the control, and you must first click inside the control to activate the design facility. When you click in the control again, the control displays the Chart Field List window where you can select the fields you need and drag and drop them onto the chart. From the Chart Field List window, drag and drop the TotalCharge field onto the Drop Data Fields Here area. (The chart automatically calculates a sum for you.) Expand the CheckOutDate By Month list, and drag and drop the Months entry onto the Drop Category Fields Here area. Your data access page should now look like Figure 27-46 on the next page.

To lock down the chart so that users can t modify it, click the Commands and Options button on the Chart toolbar, as shown in Figure 27-46, select the Show/Hide tab, and clear the Field list, ScreenTips, Field buttons / drop zones, and Toolbar options under Show by default. Also clear the Allow pivot grouping and Allow pivot filtering options under Let users view. Switch to Page view, and your data access page should look something like Figure 27-47.

Building Data Access Pages You can switch back to Design view to spruce up your page by adding a heading, fixing the caption on the navigation bar, removing unneeded buttons from the navigation bar, and applying a theme.
